Zero Waste: We have always been into recycling and composting etc. but like most people were ignorant about the effect plastic and general waste was having on the planet.
Back in April 2018, Andy discovered the Zero Waste Switzerland organisation and attended some of their workshops in Geneva. This encouraged us to look at the waste we were generating each week and to start changing one habit at a time. Within three months we had massively reduce our household waste – from large one bin bag a week to one small bag every 3 weeks.
We have drastically changed the way we think about what we need and how we consume taking inspiration from the 5Rs of the Zero Waste mantra:
We have also started making some of our own cleaning & personal products and share the recipes on our blog and Instagram feed. Our zero waste journey is not always beautiful and this means reusing old containers and repurposing other things from around the house to store the things we make.
We are now on our zero waste journey. Like any journey, we have good days and bad days, highs and lows. You can read more about our experiences, habits we have changed and what we’ve learnt along the way on our Family Blog.
